Navigating school in 4th grade

The 4th grade.!!!!!

This has by far been the hardest for My son to navigate. We have hormones omg. Stinky body parts, bigger attitudes, more self-expression and still as clumsy as ever. The hardest part of this year learning wise was watching my son struggle with friendships and subtraction and anything relating to subtraction as well as writing.

I Am happy to announce that we gave the public school system one more shot this year. IT was 1000 times better this year then last year. He has all the rights in place for a successful year. to start the year, he had a para pro educator that had to be with him for almost 3 months of the school year. He prepped him for things like transition, playground fun, meltdowns, any concerns he had for my son. He was only going for 1/2 days and still making it through all his common core classes at almost full speed while still taking breaks as needed in a regular classroom setting. Now we have about 8 weeks left of school and he has come a long way. He is able to go to school full time without a paraprofessional. He can regulate his emotions and is continually making big strides toward controlling his anger. He is able to tell between a joke and nonsense. we still working on when someone is bragging vs. talking. he gets offended and takes stuff on as if someone is personally attacking him every time.
